Introduction to driving includes circle checks, understanding the six basic conditions, and vehicle familiarization. Additionally, topics covered entail seatbelt usage, seating position, adjustment of head restraints and mirrors, hand positions (including hand-over-hand, hand-to-hand, and palming steering), visual search patterns, and the IPDE (Identify, Predict, Decide, Execute) timing concept. Other crucial aspects covered are blind spots, shoulder checks, the SMSP (Scan, Mirror, Signal, Position) method, understanding the concept of gates, techniques for starting, stopping, reversing, and forward driving, timing for crossing and merging, navigating uncontrolled and traffic light intersections, understanding right-of-way rules, mastering low-speed driving skills, and learning nose-in and parallel parking techniques.

2. City Drive

Introduction to the city driving encompasses left and right turns at intersections, including controlled, uncontrolled, and multilane intersections. Understanding right-of-way rules at intersections, proper lane positioning, executing multiple lane changes, and navigating designated lanes are key components. Other topics include understanding one-way streets, employing lane-changing techniques using the SMSP (Scan, Mirror, Signal, Position) method, crossing and merging at intersections, maneuvering through narrow streets, and coping with rush hour traffic. Additionally, dealing with pedestrians and jaywalkers, mastering timing, scanning, and search patterns, applying the IPDE (Identify, Predict, Decide, Execute) method, and understanding the six basic conditions are covered. Lastly, back-in and angular parking techniques, hand control signals, and other essential driving skills are addressed.
